Knitting Needle Organizing

Its almost the new year! Which means I am desperately attempting to organize my stuff in an attempt to make my life less chaotic...I am in need of ideas for knitting needle storage! I have so many needles and I want to organize them by size, but I can't figure out the best way to do this. Here are some ideas:

  1. What cute ways to organize knitting needles. I definitely need to copy...mine are all over and I can never find them! Love your blog and I am your newest follower. xo

  2. I have four containers (2 sweater boxes for the 10" and 14") knitting needles. The other two are smaller boxes, one for the circular and another for the double point. To avoid buying the sizes of needles I already have, I made an inventory: in addition to a record of the needle size,I included a detailed description (needle length, 10" or 14"; the color -very useful when I need to find them quickly; if it's straight, double point or circular). I did a spreadsheet, so if I need to add something later it'll be easy to insert it or add at the end. It took me some time, but once done it has saved me a lot of time. I carry a hand made list so I can check what I already have when I go shopping. I don't throw away the cardboard piece the knitting needles come in because it protects and keeps them together, besides it makes it easier to identify when you are looking for a specific size. Having one container saves space and you just go shopping to your one container for the pair you need. I am a happy knitter now:)
